Technology Integration & Digital Literacy
The APS Department of Technology Integration & Digital Literacy focuses on facilitating and supporting the integration of technology and digital learning resources in the PK-12 classroom setting to enhance blended learning experiences for students and teaching methods for educators. In addition, our department supports the district-wide library program, including our information literacy curriculum, research best practices, book selection, and more.
Key responsibilities include:
Curriculum Development: Designing and implementing digital curriculum and resources aligned with educational standards, in partnership with teachers, program coordinators, and other administrators.
Professional Development: Training teachers on using digital tools effectively in the classroom for a blended learning environment.
Technical Support: With support from the IT department, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for digital learning tools and platforms.
Resource Management: Overseeing the acquisition, maintenance, and deployment of digital learning software and applications in collaboration with the IT department.
Innovative Practices: Promoting and supporting the adoption of innovative teaching practices that leverage technology.
Digital Literacy: Ensuring students develop essential digital literacy skills and are prepared for a technology-driven world through a variety of experiences.
Data Management: In conjunction with district staff, using data and analytics to monitor and improve student performance and learning outcomes. We also support the procurement of student data privacy agreements with all vendors.
The Technology Integration & Digital Literacy team aims to create an engaging, equitable, and effective blended learning environment for all students, teachers, and staff.
