Social Studies

Andover Public School Social Studies is dedicated to ensuring Andover Public School students develop the necessary skills and habits of mind to become productive and informed citizens of our country and our world. Through the study of history, geography, civics, economics and other social sciences, students explore the forces that shape the world around them, past and present. Starting in kindergarten and continuing through middle and high school, students explore the concepts of identity, community, governance, democracy, and civilization. They are encouraged to develop as critical thinkers, as writers and as engaged citizens.
