The guiding mission of the Andover English Department is to create a community of thoughtful and engaged readers and writers who work to find their voices so they can be skilled, active participants in the world. In celebrating diverse perspectives and experiences, we foster and encourage the development of identity and work to instill the values of self-reflection, inquiry, and empathy. Our English classrooms are brave spaces where students are given the tools and support they need to display intellectual courage and seize moments of discovery.
