Wood Hill Middle School is structured so that we have multiple opportunities to meet each student’s academic, social, and emotional needs during their early adolescent years. We understand that in order to provide a strong academic experience we must also be pro-active in giving our students the skills necessary to navigate the complex adolescent years. Wood Hill prides itself on the strong relationships the adults build with our students to ensure every student is known beyond the academic classroom walls. All students are with a team of teachers throughout their middle school years and that team acts as their support system working together with their families for student success. Each team has a core of academic subject teachers and a special needs teacher who act as the leaders and mentors of that family. These teachers meet daily to discuss student needs and to plan for future learning experiences. They take ownership of each students’ academic and emotional experiences - working with administration and parents when warranted. In addition, programs such as WEB, CREW, Camp Kieve, and Mindfulness help our students feel connected, supported, and wanted.
