Dear Wood Hill Families:

We have had a true summer with plenty of sun and heat.  Hopefully everyone has been able to enjoy the weather and, more importantly, time with family and friends.  We are looking forward to welcoming your child to the new school year.  It is normal for students to have a variety of emotions around the start of the school year.  The unknown can be scary. Rest assured we will do everything possible, so your child feels a sense of belonging the minute they step in these doors on August 28th through the last day in June.

Belonging includes living in the moment and being present within our environment. This leads to our theme this year of “More Green - Less Screen.”  A recent report found that teenagers spend an average of 8 hours and 39 minutes on their screen a day.  We understand the screen time is not going away completely but our hope is to encourage our students to get outside more and live their lives beyond looking at a screen. Essentially, we are asking students to find their green - moving toward better balance, happiness, and growth.

We are sure students want to know about their schedules and logistics for the beginning of the year.  We are still registering new students and working on schedules, and they will be finalized and shared within a couple of days before school begins.  You may be able to see your schedule before then but it will not be finalized until we publish them. We will also share information about the first day, etc. as the time draws closer.  Please do not worry about school supplies for the start of the year.  Teachers will supply and/or build in time for you to get what you need.   Our primary focus will be to work on forming those important relationships and creating that sense of belonging that is critical to successful learning.

We are excited to get more parent/guardian and family involvement this school year. More information to follow, but please reach out if you have any ideas or questions.

Here are some notable dates for the fall.  Specific information about these happenings will follow.
