Andover Public Schools has embraced Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) for a number of years now, acknowledging that core student skills related to setting personal goals, managing emotions, building relationships, and socialization are important for academic success and personal well-being. In addition, it is important for students to understand their personal needs, including potential support for challenges related to mental health. In the next few weeks, APS will use a screening tool to help gauge where 7th through 12th graders are in their social and emotional learning to help us understand their current needs.

On Wednesday, November 13th, our 7th and 8th grade students will complete the screening. For more information, as well as opt-out information, click here.

At our second "Let's Talk" session on redistricting, we will introduce DillingerRAD to the community. DillingerRAD is the consultant who will be supporting the district to analyze data in the redistricting process. Upon completion of their analysis in 2025, they will provide recommended redistricting options to the district for consideration and the School Committee for a review and vote.

At this forum, DillingerRAD will:

• Share results from the first community survey
• Review current baseline district data
• Facilitate in-person discussions about challenges with the current school zones
• Encourage further conversation to gather additional feedback from the community

Our 8th grade dance party was an enormous success! We can't wait to see our 6th graders come together for a night of dancing and fun!

The 6th grade dance is Friday, November 15th from 6:00pm to 7:45pm.

Tickets will be sold on Fridays during lunches. They can also be purchased through the PAC website using this link.

The Color Run is back this year! Students will be partaking in the Color Run as the culminating celebration of the Boosterthon. Our students had a blast taking part last year. To make this year even more successful, we wanted to give substantial notice of the date, which is Friday, November 22nd.
