Byte-Size Learning

March through May: “Byte-Size Learning”
Learn IT in 20-Minutes

Sometimes you just need 20 minutes, or a quick refresher, or you just want to explore. That’s what our Byte-Size Learning Sessions are about. Jeff, Sarah, and Jenn will be hosting short, 20-minute, informal, drop-in sessions throughout March, April, and May. Topics include suggestions from the Teacher Apps Usage survey: Schoology, Google apps, blended learning, organizing Google Drive, and the various apps that we have in APS that you may not know what they do or that you have access to (you can always drop in and ask any questions about any tech. topic).

If you’d like to host a Byte-Size session and share something that you are doing with APS digital learning tools, please email our team at APS Blended Learning blendedlearning@andoverma.us! This goes to Jenn Starr, Jeff Durney, and Sarah Campbell - our APS Blended Learning Team.

Session Descriptions

Using Read&Write in Blended Learning (Jeff Durney)
Are you looking to develop your blended learning skills using Read & Write in the Google for Education suite? Maybe you’re looking for a refresher on using these tools or looking for ideas to enhance student engagement. During these sessions we will generate ideas for effectively implementing technology into a blended learning environment to meet the needs of all students. In addition, I'll be available throughout the morning to support you with co-teaching and co-planning to implement these ideas and strategies.

ClassLink/Apps (Sarah Campbell)
Did you know about ClassLink? It is a dashboard where you and your students access all of your APS applications, like email, Frontline, Aspen, and learning applications. ClassLink is our centralized single-sign-on (SSO) portal for all users, which means once you are signed into ClassLink, you don't have to sign into each application individually. Learn about navigating and customizing this important launchpad for staff and students.

Schoology - Getting Started (Jenn Starr)
Are you brand new to Schoology, or has it been a while since you've used it? This is a getting started session. We'll take a tour of Schoology tools, get you into a course, and answer your getting-started questions. This is a Zoom session - the link is in our Schoology Group, APS Blended Learning. This is an all-staff Group in Schoology. Find the Schoology tile in ClassLink (you can get there from our school websites). In Schoology, look under Groups > My Groups.

iMovie on the iPad (Jenn Starr)
The possibilities are endless with iMovie. This introduction will include some examples and first steps in getting to know iMovie on your iPad.
