JUNIOR PARKING & BUS PASS INFO 

I receive many calls from families of AHS juniors asking if they should purchase a bus pass if they plan to purchase a parking pass at the high school. If you want to avoid paying a late fee and want to secure a seat on the bus, you may want to purchase a bus pass. 

 During the last few weeks of the school year, rising seniors may pick up a parking pass application and purchase their parking passes for their senior year. Over the summer, seniors will be assigned a parking spot. In September, the remaining parking spots will be available for juniors to purchase through a lottery system. 

The junior parking pass applications are available in the AHS main office, usually during the second or third week in September of the new school year. The HS will make an announcement when the applications are available. Only junior students that hold a valid driver’s license and have a vehicle to drive at the time of application may apply for a parking pass. Students are selected randomly and there are only a limited number of spots available. Because of the limited number of parking spots, there is no guarantee your student will receive a pass. 

If you purchase a bus pass and are selected for a parking spot, you can return your bus pass with a written request for a refund. Refund requests received by the Transportation Office on or before September 30^th will receive a full refund (excluding late fee). Written requests for refunds received after September 30^th will be refunded on a pro-rated schedule posted in the Transportation Policy available online.
