Shannon I. ScullyShannon I. Scully

Shannon Scully, Chairperson, was first elected to the School Committee in 2016. She has spent the bulk of her professional career in technology, including more than a decade-long stint at Cisco Systems where she had roles in building some of the largest service provider networks in the world. In a volunteer capacity, Shannon has been actively involved as co-chair of the Penn Alumni Interview Committee at Phillips Academy, leadership council for the Andover Coalition for Education (ACE), member of the League of Women Voters, and spent many years on board of the Bancroft PTO.


Shannon is the mother of two sons who attend Andover Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Boston College. Shannon's current term expires in 2022.


Susan K. McCready
Vice Chairperson

Susan McCready, Vice Chair, has been a member of the Committee since 2015. Susan’s professional career was spent in the financial services technology and commercial banking sectors. Susan has held a number of volunteer positions in the Andover Public Schools and the community including Sanborn Elementary PTO Co-President, ACE Leadership Council, literacy tutor, and The Mother Connection President and Board Advisor. 


Susan is a 4th generation Andover resident and graduate of the Andover Public Schools. She and her family have lived in Andover since 2003 and her daughter currently attends Andover High School.  Susan has a B.A. in Economics from The George Washington University and an MBA and Masters in Management Information Systems (MS-MoIS) from The Katz School at The University of Pittsburgh. Susan’s current term expires in 2024. 


Lauren M. Conoscenti, Ph D.
Committee Member

Lauren Conoscenti has been a member of the Committee since 2020. She is currently the Assistant Director of the Office of Institutional Research at Tufts University, where she collects, analyzes, and communicates data to support strategic decision-making throughout the university. She also serves on multiple committees at Tufts related to student wellness. Additionally, in the Andover community, Lauren has served on the South Elementary School Improvement Council and the South PTO. She volunteers for A Better Chance of Andover, co-leads an Andover Girl Scout troop, and is a member of the Andover Community Garden Association. 


Lauren and her family have lived in Andover since 2009, and she is the mother of a South Elementary School student and a Doherty Middle School student. She earned her B.A. from Princeton University and her Ph.D. from Harvard University, both in psychology, and completed her internship in clinical psychology at the Medical University of South Carolina.  Lauren's current term expires in 2023. 


Paul D. Murphy
Committee Member

Paul Murphy has been a member of the Committee since 2016. Serving on the faculty at Phillips Academy since 1988, he has taught math, coached water polo and swimming, served as a dorm counselor and on numerous committees. During that time, he has also served in multiple administrative roles, most recently as Dean of Students from 2008-15.


Paul and his two sisters grew up in Andover and attended Andover Public Schools. After graduating from PA, he graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in Mathematics, later earning his Masters degree from the University of New Hampshire.  He and his wife have raised three children who were educated in APS before attending and graduating from PA.  Paul’s current term expires in 2022.


Tracey E. Spruce, Esq. 
Committee Member

Tracey Spruce has served on the Andover School Committee since March 2018. Tracey has practiced law for more than 20 years and currently runs her own law firm in Andover. In her practice, she ensures her clients are in compliance with applicable employment laws, drafts and updates workplace policies, delivers trainings to employees on topics such as harassment and discrimination prevention, conducts workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct, and helps clients to negotiate resolutions to employment-related disputes. Tracey is also a certified civil mediator. In the community, she engages in fundraising and other volunteer efforts to support local non-profit organizations, and volunteers in support of her children’s athletic and fine arts activities. 


Tracey has two children who attend Andover High School. She earned a B.A. from Middlebury College and J.D. from Boston College. Tracey’s current term expires in 2024.
